Born in Ile-Ife, Nigeria Deola Folarin is an accomplished writer/director.

She graduated from film school in 1995 with a BA [HONS] degree in Film & Video. Writing and directing her first film HUSH LITTLE BABY, a 43 minute thriller screened in the 1999 CANNES FILM FESTIVAL. She graduated in 2001 with an MA in Screenwriting from the London College of Printing where she wrote the first draft of her feature script, STAINED GLASS, and a number of other short scripts. Following on from this, she directed a short love story, FOOD OF LOVE, that year. Deola folarin had an avid interest in theatre, co-directing a theatre production of a Nigerian version of Macbeth at the OVAL THEATRE. More recently Deola has been working with veteran cinematographer Bryan Loftus (DOP on Neil Jordan’s Feature film; COMPANY OF WOLVES) on two short films: SALT SCRUBBERS [funded by FILM LONDON] and BLAZE [funded by FILM COUNCIL].
